Photographic Geraniums

This is an amazing experiment, and I can’t wait to try it. Please follow the link below for instructions. I made a local copy only to preserve it, I want to be very sure this information does not dissappear!

The chlorophyll in healthy green leaves captures light and uses its energy to join together carbon dioxide and water. The result is the organic compound we call starch. It is the basis of much of the food we eat. Starch is white, but if you drop a small amount of a solution of iodine on it, the starch turns black. So that’s it really. All you have to do is get a plant to produce lots of starch in the right place, then stain the starch with iodine.

Google 2005 Zeitgeist

Google has released their 2005 Zeitgeist. It has some pretty fun little tidbits, and is an interesting way to look at the past year.

Low Submissions

So, I have not posted anything yet this morning. I spent most of last night, and a good bit of this morning, re-working the games page. It is currently functional for Firefox users, but not IE. I will have it up and running for everyone by the end of the week.

Speaking of end of the week. This being the holidays and all, I will be out and about starting on Friday, and all through next week. This means that post will be low if at all. I will load up the games page, so ya’ll have something to do in my absence (or you could hang out with friends and family).

I will get some more stuff posted this afternoon and tonight.

**UPDATE**
The games page is up and running. It should work on all browsers now. I am still working on getting the descriptions back up, but the rest of the new features are working.

New feature #1 - New games are at the top of the list. I know, I know, what a novel idea!
New feature #2 - All the games are on a single page. This may change if I decide to add categories, but I will wait on that.
New feature #3 - Nope, that is it. Most of the new features are behind the scene things that you won’t notice, but will make my life much easier.

Electro-Kinetic Road Ramp

Dorset inventor Peter Hughes’ Electro-Kinetic Road Ramp generates around 10kW of power each time a car drives over its metal plates.

This is an amazing technology, that I really hope will take off. I can envision them at the onramps to freeways, crosswalks, and railroad crossings.

The DaVinci Code

It is all a bit overplayed now, but still might be fun. I really enjoyed bothThe DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons, and I am really looking forward to the movie. This site provides a teaser for Dan Brown’s next book in the style of the DaVinci Code’s mystery.
