Games

Nobody mentioned to me that the games pages(s) was all busted. Not a peep…
Well, I fixed it anyway. It should look exactly the same, but have some new benefits.

First benefit: it all works!
Second benefit: The pages are being generated dynamically (mostly), so I won’t have to do as much work in the future to add games.
So keep your eyes out for more frequent updates! If you have any game suggestions, or see any issues with the pages, please drop me an email, or leave a comment.

Howstuffworks

This is a great article on the origins and myths behind swearing.

We all know what “bad words” are. Unlike most other language rules, we learn about swearwords and how to use them without any real study or classroom instruction. Even very young children know which words are naughty, although they don’t always know exactly what those words mean.

Firefox 1.5 Update

So yesterday, I installed FF1.5, and reported no issues. Upon further inspection, I noticed many, issues. Most of my extentions do not work. For the most part, that is not a big deal, as the extentions are conviences and I have faith that the writers will update them. One extention is a big deal to me: Spoofstick. I was very sad and dissapointed to find that extention broken as I use it frequently. But, I was very happy to find a fix on the Mozilla site. So, I thought I would share the fix with all of you.

  • This work around was posted in Print It! extension. I use WinRAR.
  • Right click on the install link for any extension you want and cselct save as.
  • Download the xpi.
  • Right click on the xpi and select open with WinRAR.
  • Then when WinRAR opens the file click the extract to button and it will extract all the files to a directory.
  • Open the install.rdf file in notepad.
  • The search the document for: < em : maxVersion>1.0+< / em : maxVersion> change the 1.0+ to 1.5+ and save the file.
  • Drag the install.rdf file from the directory to the open WinRAR window.

  • Close WinRAR. Right click on the xpi file and select open with FireFox.
  • Install the file like normal. This will work with nay extension.

  • Now, I don’t know if this is an okay thing to do or not, but I am going to post the modded xpi for spoofstick. If this is not okay, please leave a comment and I will take it down.
