Transformers

For better or worse, many companies have taken to heart that we don’t always want to see a bunch of technology surrounding us at all times. Cellular companies have begun to listen, and are now obfuscating some of their towers. As it turns out, the Toronto Metropolitan public utility has been doing the same thing since the 1950s. The house above, is not a house. It is a ‘Bungalow-Style Substation.’ Follow the link for more pictures, and more details.

E-Rope

In a word: modular.
E-Rope can be configured to fit your exact needs, whether it is a few outlets or many. It can also accommodate as many power-bricks as you can through at it. One of the unique features is that an individual socket can be switched off by rotating it 90 degrees!

Motion sensors in cell phones

The video is a must watch. The concept is pretty cool; a motion sensor in a cellphone, that allows you to interact with it in a new way. Funny thing is, I can’t think of another use for it other than the one in the video.

QuadSki

It sounds Russian, but it is actually an English company (ha ha ha..). The vehicle can convert from Quad to Jetski in 5 seconds, making that quick get-away even quicker.

The ATV mode is capable of doing a mind-numbing 80 mph, and the Jetski mode can do 45mph.

Quadski is powered by a 140 BHP petrol driven engine, which provides drive to the wheels on land and a marine jet pump on water. It is capable of travelling at 50 mph (72 km/h) on both land and water and the transition from one medium to the other takes less than five seconds. On entering water, the wheels are retracted into the body of the vehicle at the flick of a switch. Quadski’s fuel tank allows it to travel for up to two hours on water and has a land range of 600 kilometres.

The company makes a variety of land/sea vehicles, including cars and SUVs.

The Carver

I posted a while back about the Carver, well Top Gear has finally done a review!

“I want guns strapped to the side of this!”
“The best thing about this is you know it has to have come from a country where drugs are legal”
