The train that never stops
The concept is simple: How do you insure that the train won’t be late? Make it so the train never stops. This is when things get a little trickier.

So, there are effectively two layers of transit system and the passengers spend extra time moving between them, but the main train never has to stop. You gotta’ wonder if the cost of all that extra outfitting will be offset by the overall improvement in efficiency for the city. I like the outta-the-box thinking, though, doubling the burden of embarking/disembarking for the passengers but doing it while underway. Those Japanese people are crafty.
Plus, I guess, if you were just going to the next station, you wouldn’t even have to get off the piggy-back shuttle.
There’s gonna’ be a helluva’ mess when something fails, though.
I really like the Japanese computer chick’s voice.

That would be my main concern.
I think the benefits could be astounding though. A high speed long distance train that only stops long enough at the endpoint to go the other direction.

But wouldn’t the track the piggy-backing car stops at be too high for it to get back onto the train when it comes back around? Unless they made the car AND the track wider than the train…. Or just have a curved track. But wouldn’t the piggy-backing car eventually be thrown off of the rushing train?
