GIFNinja

This site features some really cool animated skateboarding GIFs, but the real magic is a little deeper. The site allows you to create animated GIFs from movies or static images. It will also let you tear an existing animated GIF apart!

Question: Once you make your animated GIF– how do you export it to another site? Sorry, but I’m an idiot Mac user and for the life of me, I can’t find any instructions on GIFNinja about how to take the GIF with me once I’ve made it.

As a pc user, I just right click the image and ’save as’. There must be a Mac equivalent.

I’m a Macuser also, and I had the same problem. Normally, its control/click or apple/click to save animated gifs, but this won’t work on the gifninja site. It will only save the first image!

  4. MILITANTPLATYPUS Says:

If you are using Firefox, you can go Tools -> Page Info. Hit the media tab, find the GIF and then save.

  5. Miss Cellania Says:

Thanks, I tried that. but it still only saved the first image.

I also looked at the source code, no help. Then I went to “latest animated gifs”, and used the “save to MySpace” button. It instructed me to copy the code, but the code field is blank!

Try pulling the GIF from here, and let me know if that works.

Hey guys, My name is Nick and I’m the 1/2 owner of Gifninja. First off I would like to thank militantplatypus for posting the review of our site. :)

Secondly we will look into fixing the code box so max users can get their gifs :) . I wasn’t aware of this problem until right now.

Thank you for using gifninja and thanks again for the review!

I don’t know if it is the same on a mac as it is on a PC but on a PC when you right click and select “save as” you must make sure that you are saving the file as a .GIF and not a JPEG or Bitmap or anything other than .GIF

I have a Mac and there IS a SAVE AS feature in the Safari menu. I saved the file and uploaded it unto Youtube but despite Youtube ”accepting it” it didn`t work. That`s when I revisited my gif and noticed this:

    ”””Server Error in ‘/’ Application.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”””

I then looked into how I was ”saving it” and the only formats I can save it under are: Archives and Web. (nothing about saving to a .gif) Are their any mac geniuses out there? (by the way I saved it to my movie files) Thanks for reading. :)
