Multi-directional microphones are used to triangulate the position of a sniper. One minor problem…the sniper has to shoot first.

True but that does not mean that the shot was at you. When combined with another the group can triangulate and localize the attack in attempt to prevent pot shots.

Okee, So if I were a sniper I’D shoot the sniperfinder first.
Most sniperrifles fire a bullet faster then the speed of sound.
So the fnder would be broken or at least severely damaged when the soundwave reaches it!!!!.
